Family Cooking Part 1 - Breakfast: Making it Count

Breakfast is the one meal that tends to be skipped when it is a very important meal. Participants will learn how to make some nutritious breakfast meals that are fast and fun!

Teen Talk
Tuesday, June 4, 2019
9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. 
Today's teens are facing an unbelievable amount of stress and pressure from the outside world. This can cause many to fall into unhealthy and possibly dangerous relationships and habits. Join us as trained professionals from Child & Family Center share about the reality of teen dating violence and teen addiction. They will not only offer information about warning signs and symptoms but also provide information on how to talk with your teen about these issues along with providing helpful life-skills to help your teen thrive. Be part of the group and learn how you can support your teen in navigating these difficult issues and more.

CSEC – Traps of the Trafficker

This interactive training provides caregivers with awareness of the intersection of sex trafficking and children in the child welfare system. It will uncover the psychological trauma and ways our children are disproportionately targeted as victims and how you can increase their safety.

Family Cooking Part 2 - Lunch: Healthy, Easy and Fun
Saturday, June 8, 2019

Make the most of your lunch time with these easy and healthy meals. Participants will learn how to prepare healthy balanced lunches for home, school, work or on the go that are inexpensive and easy to prepare.

Behavior – What are Children Telling Us?
Tuesdays, June 11, 18, and 25, 2019
9:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.  PLEASE NOTE DATE AND TIME CHANGES!!!
This workshop looks at what children are communicating by their behavior. Following reasonable and prudent parenting standards, participants will learn strategies and tools to help identify what children may be communicating by their behavior and how we can create positive experiences that will support them.

Living with Teens (Again!) Can be Challenging!

Each age and stage of growth presents unique joys and challenges, and the pre-teen and teenage years are certainly no exception. Parenting your teenage grandchild may present unique situations as a result of the physical, cognitive, social and emotional changes taking place in your child’s life and your own life. This workshop will help you understand and support your teen.

Family Cooking Part 3 - Delicious Dinners to Wow the Family

In this workshop, participants will learn how to make nutrient dense and balanced dinners to amaze your entire family. Learn how to get your children involved in preparing and cooking family meals with recipes made here at the Center for Early Childhood Education. Some vegetarian and vegan meals that everyone will love will be included, as well as money saving tips for grocery shopping.

Conscious Parenting
Saturday, June 29, 2019 PLEASE NOTE DATE CHANGE!!!

Being conscious requires being present in the moment and responding in ways that support and uplift our children. There are many distractions when we are parenting. This workshop will explore ways in which we can build and create relationships with our children that are mutually beneficial.
