What is CWEE?
CWEE is an acronym for the Cooperative Work Experience Education program at College of the Canyons. CWEE helps students achieve their educational and career goals through for-credit internships (CWE-188) and general work experience (CWE-189).Students enroll in a CWEE course and use their internship or job for lab hours, attend one class meeting, and complete a number of independent study assignments.
Internships must be related to a Career Technical Education program or associated with the student’s career goal. Internships offer students the opportunity to apply their skills while still in college, gain on-the-job experience, and "try out" a career before graduation.
General work experience
is intended to develop new skills by challenging the employee with a
project beyond the scope of their typical duties.
The goal of the Cooperative Work Experience program is to prepare
students for the real world of work. College graduates are realizing
that it takes more than a degree or certificate to get a good paying
job. It takes work experience too.
